Default 1993 Tranny Problem??? help please

hi im recently a new owner of a 1993 3000GT. I bought it knowing that the overdrive on it did not work at all, i guess it stopped working about a month ago. what i need to know is if its still ok to drive in normal DRIVE. Will the whole tranny go out if i keep driving it in normal and not in over drive.

I plan to get a new tranny but i jus need to know if it will hurt it at all if i drive it for while to get some cash. thanks guys

If it's just the OD that isn't operating, all you need to replace is the end clutch. This can be done on the car. Of course, this is pending that all of the 3 lower gears are functioning properly. Basically- if your problem is strickly the end clutch, you transmission should act as if it is in neutral after it attempt to shift into overdrive (enging revving up without any increase in speed). If this is the case for you- the endclutch is all you need. I'd pretty much recommend having this done by someone qualified if you're not mechanically inclined. Good Luck!
