Default ABS Drive Axle on non ABS 3000GT?

Hi, anbody know that would be OK? A local autopart store has driver side axle assembly for about 60bucks but the part number is for an ABS car. They do not for some reason carry the non-ABS version. So after talking to some semi-mechanical folks, I was told it should work becuase the only difference would be some additional mounting stuff or grooves for ABS gear, which would just go unused.

But I thought I would put the question out to the experts instead... anybody know?

BTW issue is terrible grinding sound in driver front wheel. I thought is was pad metal wearing rotor but found pads to be still half new (i forgot I just did those). I did notice unusual play in rotor though, it moves at least 1/4 inch back and forth when i jiggle it. With the wheel on the play seems to be 1/2 at perimeter. The grinding gets worse when turning. Left is especially bad. This seemed to happen quite suddenly over last 2 weeks.

Thanks for any info!
