ive only heard about the full catback from one person on the internet...its supposed to be louder than hell, but then again the cheapest ive found it is around 800 - 900 bucks so go figure...

ive also heard that magnaflow is really good on imports like the 3k so you might wanna check on that...but then again its just as expensive as borla

Hopefully youll get more input cuz once i get the money this will probably be the next mod ill do also...but since ive got about 13 dollars to my name right now it might just be awhile

<<<< has Borla exhaust on his 96 3000GT SL.

Definitely street legal, not at all loud. Has a nice rumble at low RPMs, but when you go throughout the powerband at a moderate speed, the thing screams and everyone around knows you are a tuner. But generally not that loud.

"worth it" is hard to define.

It would be easier to answer if we know what if any existing modifications you have.

On a stock NA 3S a catback offers minimal peformance.

That is indeed true.

I was thinking more for the sound quality than anything else.

You can go to my cardomain account in my signature to see it, but I had a custom bent cat back exhaust done with borla tips and honestly, my car sounds like a cross between a ferrari and a corvette. I am not even joking. EVERYONE compliments me on my exhaust.
And that should only cost you about $250 to make the whole exhaust. $150 to bend the pipe and $100 for the tips if you wait and find them on ebay.
