Default ECU on 3000GT... gone bad ???

[:-]Will a bad ECU prevent a car from starting ??? I will appreciate your tips, ideas and suggestions. I'm gonna get my STARTER tested tomorrow morning. But for now, I'm just trying to think about other possible problems/causes why my car won't start. I THANK YOU GUYS VERY MUCH FOR THE HELP.

it is more than likely, it is the starter.
i put a new one in my TT, four weeks ago.
but, i had symptoms, that led me to believe it was the starter, beforehand...
you could go to 'stealth316', and use that to your advantage.
many links and much info there, our bible almost.[sm=lildevil.gif]

http://www.3sxperformance.com/ is also good for info it could be the computer was the car studdering or did it just die clean the battery connections real good they are very touchy and don't like to be even a little loose. They may even feel tight but clean them and put it back and try that first easy fix if it works. ebay has a starter go to dodge stealth in the search and You will find lots of parts called Dodge but its the same car no matter what some people think. A guy has a starter I just saw one. But its an olde one I am sure. Maybe a rebuild if you have a good starter alternator guy in town look for Auto Electric in the phone book.

A bad ECU WILL prevent the car from running- however it WON'T prevent it from cranking. There's a difference between the two. YOu have to be careful when using the word "starting" as it can easily get confused as to what your problem/symptoms really are. If you turn the key and it won't turn over at all (no crank), you have other issues to deal with aside from the ECU (starter, battery, etc) If you turn the key and it cranks over repeatedly but won't run (no start)- you may have (though not limited to) ECU issues.
