if my egr valve was busted what kind of noises will it make? i have a tick coming from my engine and its not a lifter tick. i also took out my cat and put in a straight pipe and someone told me thats what it might be. if anyone has any ideas please let me know. thanks

 

It wouldnt produce a tick sound... as far as I know, anyway. Can you be more desciptive?

 

its like a knock but i know its not a rod bearing. im not sure what it is... my engine will also backfire at 4500 rpm and the exhaust will pop i dont know what i should do.
