whats the difference in all the motor types like

6g72
6g73
6g72DE 6g72DET
6g72 all 3..0 liter V6 Mitsu engines ranging from Eclipse/3000GT, Montero, Diamante for certain years, etc etc.

the DE and DET label is not a real designation, its something that Nissan Fanboys added to it and SOMEHOW stuck. Its not real.

There are several engines with the 6G72 label, ranging from SOHC 16 valve, SOHC 24 valve, DOHC NA 24 valve, and DOHC Twin Turbo 24 valve.

No the DET doesnt mean turbo and DE doesnt mean non turbo, even though thats what some people would lead you to believe.

Not sure on 6G73...its PROBABLY the 2.5 DOHC engine out of Japan that is in the Galant Twin Turbo VR4. But I would have to look into it to find out for certain. But thats my best guess. Lets also not leave out the 6G74 with the 3.5 liter displacement engine...both SOHC and DOHC versions. Also offered in MIVEC as well...but not as easy to come by.
