Default how to turn 99 sl into turbo? and lose weight?

I'm a new owner and looking to turn my '99 3000GT SL into the VR4 edition. How much is this going to run and what parts do I need? Also, are there any easy fixes to lighten the car up?

xpensive ive looked into turning my 93 base into a TT FWD n its cheaper to go buy a vr4, at least in my case, plus you'll have 6 speed tranny/AWD...but in ur case the 99 VR4 will be xpensive bc its the "rarest" vr4 out there alongwit the spyders... as far asthe weight goestry geting sum carbon fiber body panels =)

you wouldnt need a transmission unless your current oneis shot. and you can still do it with FWD. a TT engine will be expensive new, but u can find a used one in good condition. other wise you can find the TT parts and just run 10:1 compression. that can be dangerous so u have to keep the boost down to about 5psi so you dont blow up your engine or throw a rod bearing.
the second all depends on the current condition of your car. try to search for more info. look into either 3si or stealth 316 for more info. you will find that alot of people on these site have done this and can help you alot more.

You will need the ECU, engine, exhaust, intercooler setup... i think thats it.

All depends how cheaply you can get the parts for. Not to mention selling your own should help

You can buy the stock turbo set-up off of a VR-4 and it will bolt in directly onto your motor. I will be selling mine pretty soon (complete with oil line, turbos, manifolds, maf, fuel system, ecu, etc.). If you're serious about this, send me a pm and we can talk about your options.

There are a lot of great articles on http://www.3si.org about this topic. Check them out, and as always, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
