Default love the ride but minor speed bumps

Hello, my name is Alex and I am new to this forum. I have had 3000GT for awhile but the clutch gave out, I believe it was the slave cylinder. Not sure but the one day the clutch completely depressed and that was all she wrote. Actually I came onto this forum because I was curious if anyone new what is going on with the glove box which is locked shut and will not open. I read that it has happened on many cars like a factory defect where the lock on the glove box will stick shut. Is this true? Would anyone know how to open it without damaging the latch? Any advice would be greatl Thanks for the help.

Have you tried the key? Haha, j/k. If the lock is broken, it'll need to be replaced, so it may not matter if you scratch it up. Try spraying a little Wd-40 into it and slowly turning the key. If that doesn't work, idk, call a locksmith.

sawzall, and cut the latch.

Get a new lock for the glovebox, or an entire glovebox replacement (then get it rekeyed if possible, or just don't ever lock it), and a new latch.

Default Thanks guys

Ahhh, the key. Right, good thinking!........on a serious note I think if I could not have figured that one out 3KVT I should not own a car period let alone be on the street. No the lock was didn't move. I thought maybe somebody knew something else to bypass the lock.

Would have liked to avoid cutting the latch but wanted to confirm that this was the best and only option at this point. Thanks for the advice Girly VR4.
Is the cars listed below your message all the ones that have a similar lock?
I went to the dealership and it seems that there are only a few '93 GT glove locks left in the country. I will look into getting a new one.
Thanks again. Enjoy the ride!

We have like 30 glove boxes here. 91-95 are all the same (gray). 96+ are black.

Girly VR4, that sounds great. I have a '93 Mitsubishi 3000 GT. Do you sell the glove boxes and if so for how much?
