Easiest thing to do is pull out the defective one,and take it with you to the parts place, youre gonna have to pull it anyway,so why not? Theres an access panel in the rear compartment, take the cover off,and youll see the pump assy, remove the bolts, and lines, disconnect the negative batt terminal BEFORE doing all this. There might be some residual pressure in the line, and as far as I know theres no schrader valve in the fuel rail to relieve it.

Ok, that might work, but im not buying the pump at a local part store, the pump is being ordered online from TREperformance.com.

That does complicate things a bit...I personally have bought almost all my stuff on line from www.rockauto.com Theyre super folks, and always have resolved any issues ive run across...good luck.

Lol, Yeah im actually looking on that website now, but im still confused, I have narrowed it down to a base or SL now though, knowing that the VR has std. leather seats and mine doesnt so that makes it a little easier. My next thing is the ABS does the base model have ABS? That answer would help me actually figure out which model I have.

Im not that familiar with the specific models,I DO know mine is an SL,Leather, electric moonroof,Infinity sound system,etc...If I have my guess the fuel pump will be the same for base, and SL,but different on the VR4.Ill enclose a pic of my powerplant and if it looks like yours Id say its probably an SL

No, the base model does not have ABS, Auto climate control or leather.

You already have the answer though...the TT models have a different pump than the non-TT models...it's not that hard.

Sorry,I cant answer that question,my 3000gt arrived here primer grey, and all the logos had been removed for repaint.I have seen one 3000gt base locally, and it had cloth seats,no moonroof, and looked rather plain.I cant remember seeing any 3000gt (sl or otherwise) that indicated it was an sl,vr-4 etc.Ive only seen the normal 3000gt logo on the rear of the cars.I suspect however that since you obviously dont have a vr-4,youre safe,as the fuel pumps for the base and sl are most probably the same.Do some more research on the rockauto site.

His will say "SL" on the hatch lid.
Here's a rundown of what TheStealth is stating......there are two fuel pump models, one for the VR (which is most likely going to be a bigger pump [bigger flow, not bigger in size]). The other pump will be for the rest of the models and will flow a smaller amount. That makes sense right? You stated that there are two pumps that you can get, the higher priced one will most likely be the higher flowing pump. Let me look in my CAPS program and get you a model number....

I forgot that base models of any car will not have a trim badge, lol...duh.
