New engine and adding T13(wrx) turbos
I have a 94 3000gt and andit has a japanese rebuilt new stock engine, thatme and alot of people helpedjust put in my car recently.
It runs good, but i want a VR4 with around 400-500 hp. Should i get a 3000gt VR4, andtake that engine in my current 94 GTand putit inthe VR4 car and buy two T13 turbos(WRX car) and have it installed?
Orwould it work if i get a 4WD transmissionchange and then i add the two turbos? Would it be harder to do it this way since i would be needing to buy alot of other stuff to make it like a real vr4 with everything.
Thanks

RE: New engine and adding T13(wrx) turbos
well if your car is manual then it'd be a pain cause awd comes from the vr4 tranny. so you'd have to get the 6-speed tranny from a vr4 to replace your 5-speed and thats not the simplest of tasks. the tranny's from the base model and sl 3000gt's arent meant to hold that much power like the vr4 tranny is so you have to be careful. also the n/a engine has a much higher compression and adding turbos will just make it worse. to make the car awd you wud need the new tranny, a transfer case to make all the tires spin, the vr4 exhaust cause your old one wont fit with the new parts under the car, and you would need the rear end from a vr4 for the axles and stuff like that. also i think i remember hearing something about having to change the breaks and suspension in the back as well, but that may not be true.

The AWD 5 speed getrag(VR4 Tranny) can easily be made to be in "FWD" mode. Just do some research about it on 3si. The 10:1 compression doesn't mean anything. There are plenty of FWD-TT's that have the stock NA engine and can put down quite a bit of power (including me). I have a TT conversion with Custom 13T turbos and can easily run 10psi no probs on 93 pump gas. You just need the supporting mods. Seriously, if you want to be able to do this kinda stuff, 3si is the only way to go.

naw don't work for 3si. Yea it sucks about the old timers not answering questions but really and truthfully, it is usually easier/faster to search for answers to your question than to wait 3-4 hrs for a decent reply to a question u asked. Alot of the stuff I needed answers for while doing my TT conversion, I just searched for and found my answer in under 10 mins instead of posting a question and sitting around for hours while i waited for somebody to answer me.
