Default question

Wondering if this has happened to anyone? Now this sounds bad and almost sounds like rod knock but i know its not rod knock because my last car had it. It only happens when i first start my car after it has been sitting for a while and it even if it is sitting it still doesn't hapen everytime. Now like i said when i start it it sounds almost like a rod knock but i goes away after about 45sec. could this be a bad sign or could it just be a loud valve tick since there is not that much oil on the top when i start it. any info would be great.

Lifter tick... nothign to worry about.

You can get rid of it by changing your oil and adding an additive (dont know what kind) when you do.. then drive it for a couple hundred miles and it will go away.

Its nothing to be worried about

That's not a way to fix it on the 3S's.......Its the lifters them selves are junk and go bad, you should replace them with second generation lifters. You do not want them going bad, whats the noise, lack of oil, what happens when there is a lack of oil......enough said. If you poke around on the 3000/Stealth part sites you will find the second generation lifters that I am talking about.
