Should i Get a VR4?

RE: Should i Get a VR4?
dude, it's a 1999 gsx with only 66k miles on it for $5500. you cant find a better deal than that. and it's legit cuz it's from a dealer. by it pretty much stock and do a few mods yourself. unless youre racing it there's really no need for someone who's 16 to have a 10 second car. i'll send you the link if youre interested.

Your saying a stock 7 bolt is more reliable than a race ready 6 bolt with a race tranny.....
Seriously.. this topic needs to die right now.
What does it ****ing matter if he is getting a fast car for his first? That has NOTHIN to do with it!

i think it is a big factor...learn to respect a car before you be a road racing retard with a "fast" car...honestly i wouldnt want my child to have a 350whp turbo beast as his first car...more like a sporty slow car that he can mod a little.

This is NOT about you! It is about what HE wants.
Who said anything about road racing? Its not like he said.. "ooh yeah i wanna have a really fast first car so i can beat all the honda **** at my school and street race"

well thread wasnt originally about DSM's either...someone did a good job of changing the topic to how ****ty vr-4's were in their opinion...the kid doesnt seem to know much about these cars thats why i dont think he should have a fast car for his first car...**** i know lots about cars but i dont even want a fast car for my first car...i want a sporty car that gets ok gas mileage(hints the 3000gt sl) so i am only making a suggestion to the guy and THAT is not about you.

The reason i suggested a built DSM was because he wanted something quick.. but reliable.. .and a VR4 is not reliable.. although can be quick. The built DSMs are solid and fast.

RE: Should i Get a VR4?
the vr-4 is reliable if you dont beat the **** out of it...ive heard good things about them. ive heard people getting 200k+ miles on a TT with little to none problems. It is all in how you take care of your car. both a built DSM and a stock vr-4 are going to be reliable if you take care of them(and also if the previous owner did) i just don't think this guy knows what he is getting into...in my opinion when it comes to sports cars/modified cars you should at least know some good info on them as they will most likely take a little more work to keep up. so that is why i suggested to HIM that a stock sporty car thats not that quick could be a good first car.
