Default Sluggish acceleration.

Greetings from Austin TX, Mitsubish community, I have recently purchased a lovely 95 3000GT SL with 63,000 Miles on it. I have a minor concern the acceleration between 1st 2nd and 3rd is very sluggish and if on an incline causes the car to shake a bit. I'm comparing this to my other car 95 cutlass cierra which has smooth acceleration even at 120,000 Miles. I know for a fact the 60K job hasn't been done I have recently done an oil change with synthetic. A friend told me that I should change out the spark plugs and wires and put all performance parts inplace. I intend on doing this as well at timing Belt, Water pump, est est.... any thoughts as to why the acceleration may be so sluggish? Possibly fuel filter? I've heard of people talking about compression tests...If I need one where do I go to get one? I don't know jack about engines. Thankyou very much in advance.

Edit: The car is an automatic 24V

Yeppers, it's happening next week I'm buying the bundle from 3sx.com and found a mechanic that'll do the job for 350 bucks.

Good stuff, the motor you have (6g72) will be TOTALLY useless if that timing belt goes.

Stay away from BOSCH... stick with good ole NGK plugs.

Well sometimes the car can seem slow... my advice is sea foam that bitch. Maybe get an intake and take it in for a tuneup. GET THAT BELT CHANGED!
