I would start with a test pipe to replace the cat, and a high-volume air filter. both will run you anywhere from $60 to $160. Added HP will be about 15 to 25. You will feel the difference.

The truth is that your 94 SL weighs in at just shy of 3500lbs. It is heavy. If your really want power you need to go forced induction. You could spend upwards of 2Grand on parts and upgrades and barely be putting down 200fwhp on the dyno. I would suggest to you that before you start buying bolt ons for your NA...ask yourself these questions:

1. How much power do I want?
2. How fast to 60/quarter mile do I want to go?
3. How much money do I have to spend?

If your answer to 1 is over 300 then you need to either do a tt conversion or a full tt swap(the latter of which is more expensive but better in the long run and easier)

If your answer to 2 is less than 5 seconds to 60 and 13's or less in the quarter, once again go TT

If your answer to 3 is atleast 3 Grand TT is the best way to go to maximize your cash. I spent over $1200 In performance mods for my 3/s and if I was to believe the numbers they(as in the vendors) said I would gain then I would have about 275hp right now at the engine. If I was to dyno at the road I would prob be doing about 197 and at the engine about 240. Just not worth it. GO TT!!
