I've read about a few failures of Fram filters and know of one personally. The check valve came out of the filter and lodged in the oil pump. I'll see if I can find the pictures of it.

I also use Wix filters.

Fram did give them like $1500 for a rebuild, so not all was lost.

Well, that does make it easier to take, but I would have pressed for double that, lol.
