Oil filters
Any sources online or aftermarket for oil filters for the 2007 yet. Dealer only? It looks exactly like the ones for my Sienna from the outside, but i haven't removed it yet to check threads/seals.
I'm looking for specs from various aftermarket filter makers..purolator, fram, champ labs...and the only thing common is the thread...20mm X1.5mm
Fram thinks the diameter of the filter is about 3 inches...Purolator and Cham says 2.67 inches...lengths vary from 2.5 to 3.5 in...
I don't think filters are too picky on length, it just needs to fit in the area.. I haven't looked at the original filter yet and compared it to the filter Purolator says fits..which is the same as my last vehicle.

why are people so reluctant to use the manufacturers filter? Fact it, its the best. Ive seen them all, and had problems with nearly every other manufactures filter EXCEPT the factory.
I haven't checked, but I would guess that OEM is expensive? That, and the fact that the dealer is 45 minutes from my house. Althought I'm not super uptight about getting the 'perfect' filter, there are some quantifiable differences shown in numerous tests you could find around the internet. I have to say I'm skeptical that the OEM one is "the best"... do you have some evidence to support that? What sort of problems have you had with other manufacturers? I've been changing my own oil for about 15 years now with a random assortment of brands and cars, and have never had a single problem.
The only reason I dont use the OEM filters is that the nearest dealer is 45 mins away. I should buy like 5 at a time but I never got around to it. Besides advance auto parts is 2 miles away if that.
