Oil filters
Backflow valves. I had a 1987 Audi 4000 that has since been replaced by the outlander. Some manufacturers of filters(fram in particular) didn't have the valve inside that kept the oil flowing back throught the filter when the car was shut down. OEM ones had the valve as did some aftermarket ones. I did use a fram on a couple of occasions but the valve noise at startup was LOUD.

Its just an oil filter. I have done oil changes on every car I owned and the parents cars. I used from fram filters to k/&n filters. The oil is alwasy dirty after the next 3000 miles. The cars never blown up. I doubt a oil filter company is going to produce a filter that will casue your motor to blow. That would mean that every car that filter fits would blow up.

ive fixed mitsus (and other cars) for 16 years. thats probably well more than 5000 oil changes. Guess what? I HAVE seen oil filters ruin car engines, and cause other issues. Most of the time that has happened, its been an "orange" filter on the car, but not always.
However, ive never had a failure with a factory filter.

Thats what im saying. Its not always fram filters. All the filters run a chance of messing up.
