Hey Everyone,

i have a 2002 Mitsubishi Diamante with about 170K miles on it. My problem is when it is in park it idle around the 2 mark on the dash which seem to be high, but when you put it in drive or reverse it idles very unstable jumping from the 1 mark to almost 0 and feeling like it is about to die but never do. when driving it down the road it surges hard at stop lights like it is trying to pull off then feels like it is about to die. my biggest issue is that it DOES NOT HAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON so i don't know where to actually look.

I have replaced:
PCV Valve
IAC Valve
Fuel Filter
MAF sensor
EGR Valve

Plan to replace:
Fuel pump once i burn done some gas out of the gas tank

 

My 2002 Diamante (170K miles) had stalling issues at idle and I found that a removal and thorough cleaning of the throttle body assembly and IAC valve cleared it up. It also showed no codes despite the stalling. Runs like new now.

2002 Diamante VRX same issue. Didn't make it to mechanic before car died along side of road. Had to replace distributor. Car runs perfectly now.
