Hi, I'm new to the forum, and I'm trying to get some help on figuring out where the leak is coming from in my 2000 Diamante. I already replaced the head cover gasket, and washed the engine but the leak is still there... Could it be the cam seals? I heard Diamantes have a problem with those goin bad and oil being leaked around the engine.
I took some pics of the leak to see if I can get some help.

In order to get to those I need to remove timing belt as well right??

 

The places a second generation Diamante will leak oil, in order of likeliness:

1. The rear cam plug O-ring (on the driver side of the engine, near the radiator hose attachment). This O-ring is available aftermarket.

2. The distributor O-ring. The distributor O-ring is available in an assortment of distrubutor O-rings sold by Autozone.

3. Valve cover gaskets. You have already done valve cover gaskets.

4. Spark plug tube gaskets. Did you replace the spark plug tube gaskets when you did the valve cover gaskets?

5. Camshaft front seals. The front cam seals require removing the timing belt and cam pulleys. Use a Lisle camshaft seal puller available here or you stand a good chance of scratching your camshaft surface trying to get the seal out. You can remove the top front timing belt cover and look at the seals to be sure they are leaking before attempting to change them.
