Default 2003 Verada (Diamante) DTC 22, 23 (Crank / Cam Angle Sensors.)

G'day all

About six months ago I had what I think was DTC 22 and 23 occur - and the garage 30km away said it was due to the timing belt being about to die. I didn't doubt them as it was well overdue - for some reason I thought it was a model with a chain. They replaced the belt and the error went away.

The Check Engine and TCL lights came on again recently, so I shelled out for a compatible code reader, and it states the same codes are back. The only contributing factor may be that the car has been outside unused for a couple of weeks and it's been pretty wet and cold. I haven't attempted to drive it since.

Do you think replacing these sensors is the best first step?

In the mean time the '96 Magna just keeps on trucking.
