I (or the cat) lost my spare ignition key and remote transmitter to my 02 VR-X. The dealer wants nearly $300 to replace. Are there any reasonable alternatives?

 

I got the same problem.... I have to do a brake pedal sequence after 2 times starting it.....what did u find out??

 

What I found out is, its not so much the key as the keyless transmitter for the stock alarm system. The key was widely available, and there were several websites offering the transmitters much cheaper than the dealer. Never got around to acting on it, though.

What is this 'brake pedal sequence'? I've never heard of it.
