P0170 Fuel Trim Malfunction (Bank 1) - Read Our Article On Oxygen Sensor Codes For Help With This Generic Check Engine Light Code

It is simple oxygen sensor. you can go on line search for CEL CODES there tons of them. if you don't want to post the problem here

goodluck it is an easy fix. just check how many sensor on the car

Is p0170 the only code you have? does this car have 2 or 4 O2 sensors?

You must have 2 I think but not sure

Bank 1 means probably near the engine. Bank 2 I think it is catalyctic converter.

if you have more 4 of them THEN I DON'T KNOW. 2 in the engine and 2 in the exhaust I think Tech will know

If it's Bank One CHECK MAF or Manifold you must have an air leak.

Fix it as soon as possible brokenO2 sensor might damage your car.

if you cant wait anymore buy the parts from Auto Zone. I think they sell BOSCHE O2 sensor for cheap but if you want Mitsubishi it will be more expensive

I recommend to buy a new o2 sensor. if the CEL lights up again after cancelling it.

You might have another problem.

Do you have SRI or CAI? check the boot that is holding the pipe on the engine. it might be loose.

tighten it, check MAF it it's broken.

goodluck

CEL really makes me nervous when it lights up.

Its the only code and its a 3.0 v-6. I know its an upstream o2 sensor but I am not familair w/ mitsu abt bank 1 and bank two. Fords, bank 1 is on the pass side and bank two is on the drivers side.

The car runs fine just has a cel so I can assume that there is no intake leak or any issues w/ the maf.
