Default Hot battery

Hey guys, my car battery gets very hot and boils/bubbles in my v3000. I bought a brand new century battery but it's still doing it but don't have a clue why, alternator voltage regulator maybe? any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Alternator voltage regulator or a short.

That battery is garbage now.

yeah dammit, i just checked the voltage reading across the battery terminals while the engine was idling and it read 16.5 volts and same reading with lights turned on so defiantly a overcharging problem or would a short cause that to, also there is a bit of a miss or surge while driving at low revs so do you think its related to the overcharging.

Could very well be, or possibly could have done damage to other components.
