Default Lubrication

Hello, i have an 1989 Mitsubishi v3000 which is due for an oil change at 206,000 km's, doe's anybody have any recommendations on what to use, was thinking of Castrol gtx 20w-50, there is also a ticking sound at cold start up so hoping a decent oil will fix that.

ticking is your lifters. Clean oil might, but a new pump and clean out the valve train definitely will. If replacing tappets, Mitsi originals are some hundred EACH. Repco have em for about 60.

Depends what condition your rings are in, what oil. But at that age, yeah, heavy is good. Any brand will do, repco homebrand (5l red bottle) is cheap. Or valvoline have some eco friendly green stuff. Not cheap and from memory 15w40, but itd do, too.
