Exclamation Need help

after searching the internet for anything on the transmission relay, I finally said "hell with it let me start looking for it". So I ripped apart the stereo center console and took a look inside "no luck". I ripped apart the glove box and looked behind the air bag all the way to the kick panel "still no luck". I cannot find this relay to save my life!

Any help would be appreciated.

vedlinyrim,

I have a 02 AT Diamante also. I did purchase a book for this car. If I can find the info in the book I will be happy to post it for you. I will let you know regardless.............

I'll try to post it by Monday at the latest.

That would be awesome! I tried Checkers and they say the listings for the book they have only go up to the year 2000 on the Diamante.

It seems the 2002 has a manual created but Mitsubishi prints it and can only be bought from the dealer (doubt they would sell it to an unlicensed mechanic). Any help would be great!

The dealer would be happy to sell anyone the service manual. Or, you can usually find one on eBay for $50 to $75. Almost any 1999 to 2004 manual will work for your 2002 since the changes were slight between the years.

Or, you can download an Australian Magna/Verada manual for free from http://www.lisho.net/files/magnaworkshop.iso. You use your CD burning software to burn the ISO file to a CD, then use the CD to install the manual on your PC. Use the TJ/KJ model to approximate a US Diamante. You will have to deal with some right-hand drive issues, plus convert Nm torque readings to ft. lbs.

as far as I have seen the repair manual for this vehicle is a 2 book Mitsubishi set. I have seen them for sale on Ebay going for over $120 for the set. I have already figured out how to get to the relay and comps and I have documented with pictures the step by step instructions on how to get to this relay. I will post it for other people who are searching the internet for this relay as well.

There is currently one for the 2002 going for $75 on eBay (as of May 27, 2011) at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2002-...sQ5fLiterature

...and one for a 1999 going for $50 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1999-...item588d45b52a

I have the 1999 manual and use it for both my 1999 and 2002. I also use the downloaded one I posted earlier because I can print out pages.

NOTE - The above links will go stale when the manuals sell, so people that visit this thread at a later date will have to search eBay for current listings.
