Default Parking Brake Cable parts discontinued

My car is 2003 diamante.
Parts # I need : MR928266 MR928265

The parking brake cable has some issue so the parking brake doesn't release properly. I think that's because the cables became rusty.
Unfortunately, the parts are discontinued. afthermarket doesn't produce these cables for my car while the aftermarket cables are available for the older cars(~96)

1. anyone has idea to remove any rust inside of the cables? Can I reused them after clean them?
2. Can I use any custom parking brake cable for my car?
3. How about the cables for the older cars(1996)?
