Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum but have had a 2001 Diamante LS for 6 years. She's got 160k miles on her so I have seen alot of the typical stuff. Recently my transmission quit on the LS,(won't do anything at all in any gear, but does go into park) but I was able to pick up a slightly wrecked 2002 VR-X with 70k miles for $500. I need to know if the engine and trans will swap directly into the LS and what is different if anything, and any special tool/skills required. I will be selling VR-X parts when I finish also. engine and trans will interchange. differences are all cosmetic. grill, fin, instrument cluster, rims. good luck

 

The Swap went very well, I just swapped the entire drivetrain Carriage and had the car drivable in 12 hours. Only issue I have is the transmission is in fault mode and the speedo doesnt work. there was one device with a connector on the old trans that was not present on the new one and was covered by a plate. I removed the device from the old trans and installed it in the new one and plugged it in. I have the entire 2002 doner car and intend to swap the TCU also. Any ideas?
