car not recognizing fob

car not recognizing fob
Sometimes after driving and turning off the engine I am unable to use the key for any actions, lock/unlock, release trunk
The fob blinks red but the car does not respond and no lights on the car blink.
When I try again 30 minutes later it works.
This does not always happen. Seems to be random. I have replaced batteries in both fobs.
2012 Spyder 26K miles.
any ideas?
