Default 05 Limited - tapping when accelerating

I have an 05 endeavor limited with 80k Miles on it. Only when I take it on highway trips it starts tapping when I accelerate and slows down when the car slows down. It's not all the time just every few months and only on longer drives. It doesn't do it just driving around town. One person tells me it's a valve tap and another person tells me it's not otherwise it would do it all the time. Any ideas?

Can you tell where the tapping is coming from. Engine? Rear? right? left? Can you make the same noise if you put it in park and rev it after a long trip? More details and I am sure someone will be able to help you out.

It's definitely in the engine sounds like dead center. After a long trip and it starts making the tap, If I sit in the driveway and rev it, it will make the tapping sound

Default Good Luck...

Do yourself a favor and unload it... If you are the original owner it may still be under warranty is so take it immediately to the dealership...

Otherwise grab your ankles and get ready to spent 3500 for lifters TB waterpump and seals...
