2004 Endeavor XLS gas smell at tank.
I recently started smelling gas in and outside my car.
I put it on my lift and could see no visible fuel leak stain on the tank but if I touched the top of the tank I could smell gas on my hand.
Is there a common failure with the gas tank rusting thru or the fuel pump assembly leaking possibly thru a rusted line?
I'd like to avoid my car being down while I order parts but I'd also like to avoid ordering everything if it's only a rusted line so I'm asking if there is a common issue here so I can hopefully have only the correct parts on hand.
Fuel tanks are not returnable.
It lives in the Northeast (Mass) and has 200k on it.
