2006 No stereo, turn signals, interior lights since cutting trailer wire
2006 Endeavor and I was trying to fix a problem with my trailer lights and now I have no turn signals, flashers, stereo or interior lights. Have checked all fuses and disconnected battery to recycle. Only 1 fuse was bad and it was the hazards. Hazards still do not work.
Any ideas most welcome.
Thanks very much,

I'll look into interior lights and get back to you.
Have you found out the problem?
Where did you cut 'trailer' wiring, under dash?
Try going back over all you did / cut.
Must have cut/nicked additional wiring for it to be a direct short.
I got an ETACs ecu from EBay that exactly matches mine and replaced it. No difference at all.
The wire that I cut was on a trailer wiring harness that allows me to tap into a plug in the rear and then allows me to connect to trailer lights.
I have replaced that with a completely new harness and no difference. The lights on my trailer still work, with the exception of my turn signals of course.
My understanding is that the ETACs ECU controls the directionals amongst other things so assuming my eBay replacement is not faulty I am guessing that the
problem is somewhere else in my wiring system. Is this something that a Mitsubishi dealer can test to isolate where the problem might be.
I have spoken to them on the phone and they did not appear to be at all interested in helping me. I am just wondering if they would have the
Equipment to diagnose a 2006 Endeavor electrical system. If my local guy can do it than that would be great. I am not a big fan of the Mits dealership.
One thing that I have found is that when I first turn the ignition on and I have a the lever actuated either left or right I will see exactly 2 blinks on my instrument panel....and that is all that is see.
So there appears to be a connection to those blinkers it just cannot sustain itself.
Thanks,
Jim Lee

Jim, where did you cut 'trailer' wire?
In your reply, you said trailer lights are still functional... Wrong wire cut?
ETACS is indeed the controller for all of that, along with immobilizer, etc.
Dealer will empty your wallet with electrical diagnosis.
You may have a defective used module. See if returnable or swap for another..
I have some time later,I'll look at my downloaded manual.
> $20 online factory manuals, worthwhile.

Jim, I reread where you replaced wiring harness for trailer. My bad.
> Does vehicle run? Engine starts OK?
When I had to replace my ETACS, I had to get keys re-programmed to communicate with 'new' unit.

If the reprogramming is just about the door unlock or the security system I don’t care about either of those issues. All I want back is the turn signals and interior lights and stereo.
just for the heck of it I might call up the Mits dealer to see if there is anything I need to do after replacing this ETACs. I have already disconnected the battery for 30 minutes.
is there anything else that I might have to do to tell it there is a new ecu in there?
thanks much,
Jim Lee

“When I had to replace my ETACS, I had to get keys re-programmed to communicate with 'new' unit”
This is what I am thinking. Does the dealership have to do this?
The Endeavor runs fine. Everything works except for those 3 things. Directionals, stereo, interior lights.

Jim, I'm surprised the vehicle runs without re-programming immobilizer.
I had a traveling locksmith, with appropriate software to do mine. > The immobilizer circuit would not recognize keys & start. My problem was no start with alarm and flashers going off.
Have you checked ALL fuses and fusible links? Fusible links are the clear plastic cubes in boxes.
Was this an aftermarket trailer wiring? I didn't find a diagram for it it manual I have..
I would get a quote from dealer and locksmith to compare. I'd be more inclined to go to dealer if quotes are close,
Sorry I can't be of more help. Jeff
