Unhappy HELP!! Oil Pressure and CAM knocking

My 2004 Endeavor recently started making a very load knocking noise only with cold startup. Can almost guarantee that oil is not getting to the cam/top of engine fast enough so what I hear is the cam spinning and making contact with little or no oil for approx 10-20sec at start up. Eeehhh......I know!! Not driving that much right now. Does not happen all the time. Can be cold or warm in the morning so it is a hit or miss thing but never happens once the engine is warm.

I only use Mobile 1 synth since day one, bought it with 18,000 mile, and now have 89,000. Change the oil religiously as well. Oil pressure light does not come on. Been a GREAT car. I tried changing the oil recently as well. Dealer wants $500+ just to pull all apart and look at it.

Anyone have any ideas or know where I can get an Endeavor 2004 service manual? Any help is greatly appreciated before I bite the big one and go the $500+ route.

Default Find problem?

Was wondering if you ever found the problem. I purchased my service manual on ebay (CD) for 6 bucks with the usual 6 bucks for shipping.

your noise is NOT the cams. Its probably the timing belt tensioner.
oil pressure is not a problem on any mitsu engine. period.
