How do you get a dealer to check a TSB? (kinda long)

RE: How do you get a dealer to check a TSB? (kinda long)
For one thing there are two reprog TSB's for the problem you are having, there is one specifically for the pinging and knocking and there is another one for the misfire, lean fuel trim, and O2 sensor codes, but either way, if your local dealer does a PCM reflash it should be done to the latest software. I am not sure how it works in the States, but here I automatically check for TSB's with customer concerns and do the quick easy **** first rather than trying to change parts in hopes that it will fix the problem. Besides if its a software issue wtf good is throwing parts at it gonna do.

PURPOSE Due to incorrect parameters in the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software, some vehicles may experience one or more of the following: •Spark knock •Engine pinging •DTC P0171 (System Too Lean) •DTC P0300 (Cold Engine Misfire) •DTC P0133/P0153 (Heated Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response) •Delayed shift engagement from Park to Reverse, or Park to Drive To eliminate these conditions, reprogram the PCM as described in this bulletin.
thats the other
either way, there is only one procedure for reprograming and I know our VCI is equiped with the latest software.

I was in the drive way when my wife attempted to start her 2004 Endeavor. Sounded like the engine began to roll over, then like the crank shaft broke. Manybrews is right on. I worked in Texas and did not know that she was telling the Lube Change Tec. that she did not need a new air filter. Rather than continue to attempt to start the engine, I checked the oil level, fine, I checked to see if a rod had poked through the block, no puncture, I opened up the Air Filter box and there I saw the problem right away. The white filter material was congested with dust and a sooty black particulate like black exhaust dust? I purchased a good Fram Air Filter, and after installing it, I made more inspections, and finding nothing else, cranked that puppy right up! Problem solved.
