P0335 2008 Endeavor SE
The engine starts easily when it's cold and it runs well. When I reach my destination, I park the car and I turn off the engine. Depending on how long the car has been sitting, I might have to crank the engine several seconds before it starts running. At this point, the MIL comes on and I scan DTC P0335. I suspect intermittent failure of the Crankshaft Position Sensor and I should replace it before it hard-fails. I would like to hear your thoughts on this issue. Thanks.
For reference, I attached P0335 info from Chilton Library.

I think the P0335 likely resulted from my zealous effort to start the engine (i.e., prolonged cranking). I am trying to diagnose what else could cause the hard-starting.
The mechanic at my neighborhood repair shop charges $160/hour; the Mitsubishi dealer quoted labor rate of $380/hour.
