trying to recharge a/c
I have a leak in the a/c unit of my '04 Endeavor. Since it is the end of the summer I don't want to take it to a garage and have it recharged for 90 bucks. My buddy says buy the stuff at wal-mart and do it myself but i havent the slightest idea where the ac unit is located or where i put the stuff in. Help. anyone?

It quite simply. For a first timer, I would suggest a recharge kit (134+) with the guage since it'll make like easier. If you look at the directions on the kit, it'll tell you everything and you should follow it as it says. The a/c pipes are located on the left side when opening the hood and the kit will only recharge the low port which is the bigger hose (blue cap). DON'T overfill, otherwise you'll just make the problem even worst. If you don't want to risk anything, just leave it to the experts but damn $90, it couldn't possibility that much.

jesus! Do you people even listen to yourselves?
"i dont know what im doing"... and youre gonna do it anyway?
first, if the system is low, its LEAKING. they dont loose freon for any other reason.
second, you have NO idea how much is in there and therefore have no idea how much to put in.
you need to have the leak fixed, then PROPERLY charged by someone that knows whats going on.
