I am about to purchase the adaptor and air filter but i do have one question about the adaptor, will I need to buy longer bolts to hold the adaptor onto the mass air meter??? Or will the bolts that are there now be long enough to go through the adaptor into the mass air meter holes???

On mine the bolts were long enough... the nuts dont thread very easily though.. I actually had to thread the nuts in up side down because they caught the threads better

I got one more question, emonz I was looking at the pictures you showed earlier and noticed that your tubes the run from the turbo to the mass air to the filter are blue... obviously they are not stock but will that adaptor work on a stock setup? I hope because this is what I was basing this off of. Do the stock tubes setup just like your setup?? If not I dont think it will work for me and if thats the case I just blew 60 bucks away. Oh by the way, i installed the hks bov, you definately can hear it over stock, it is not very loud but is noticeable, my only problem is that one of the vacuum tubes leaks, I tried clamps but that didnt work, I'm gonna try zip ties and see of that works.

Yes it will work on stock I had the same filter and adapter on the stock pipe before we made the blue one.

Are you talking about he VAC line that goes on the BOV? cause I had to get a new one for it to fit. If it is that one get that fixed ASAP because without good VAC into that BOV it wont work. regular BOV use PSI and VAC to open this used PSI to keep it closed that is why it cant leak but that means it requires the VAC alone to open it if you have no VAC then you will get some compressor surge and it can harm the turbo if ridden hard like that for a while

yeah I got the car home and replaced the clamps with zip ties, it seemed to seal better. Tomorrow when I get home from work I'll check it out and see if its still doing it cause if it is I'll go out and buy some smaller vac hose. Its kinda stupid that hks knows that the stock hose dont fit and that you'll need a smaller hose, they give you the fittings but not the hose to complete everything.... what size was the line you used to connect the vac line?? I went to autozone and got 5/32 hose, it seemed to go on the adaptor they gave in the kit but when I put those clamps on I think It was causing it to re open. I'll know definately tomorrow though if i fixed the problem. On another note, I lost those damn plastic pin things that hold on the snorkle, I always hated those things, when i removed it the first time i lost one, later i lost the second one....lol thank god im getting the adaptor and filter, that would annoy me evertime i seen those missing, good thing I had 1 extra one left from my last car. Well I'll repost tomrrow to let you know what happens.

oh before i forget, when I was running the car with the new bov, everything seemed to be fine, no idle issues, and I did get some audible sound, and on the plus side it seemed as though the turbo was spooling faster, maybe its just me but the car seemed to pull a little earlier. well thats it for the night.

It will pull harder cause your not leaking boost. and it may boost slightly better

well I just got home about 30minutes and decided to fix the leaking problem, well after using the zip ties it works great, no leaking what so ever. Yeah it does seem to pull a bit sooner, and it feels really good, plus no surging or idle problems as of yet. And emonz i know what you mean about the supra type bov sound, when I hit boost and pushed the clutch in it made that cool blow iff sound, I can tell you though, when your driving by yourself with no other cars around you can hear it with no problem unless you rev really high then the exhaust just takes over. But you definately need the adaptor and filter if you wanna get it audible like you said. I cant wait till it comes through the mail now....... Hey emonz thanks for all the recommendation for what to buy.

Not a prob. Your BOV will be quite a bit louder with the new filter. Just because the factory airbox will be gone
