EVO Clutch
Does anyone has any suggestion regarding to EVO's clutch cuz I feel that it is just so stiff and long(I've tried the M3 clutch and it's just so much better.....just can't afford one LOL). Is it a good idea to switch to a racing clutch?? or any other way to improve this problem?
Thanx

Hi laah_evo
Have a look at this one ACT Street Disc Clutch Kit : Lancer EVO 8
http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...7&cat=6&page=1
It is not expansive but very strong and good feel also good for normal driving. I also am not happy with the stock EVO9 clutch it is very soft and you cannot launch the car properly of the line without having a bad burning smell and I am not talking about dropping the clutch at redline cos that is just plain stupid. I had a twinplate carbon fiber clutch in my EVO7 which was a little hard to drive as it connected immidiately but boy you could get all four wheels to spin. good clutch if you had a spare US$3000.

RE: EVO Clutch
ive had an evo7 , since 2001
and im just about to have my 2nd clutch fitted , yet again im staying with the mitsubishi standard clutch,
all these ceedy clutches and fidanza fly wheels ,
seem a lot of $$$$$$$ for a product that maybe lasts as long as the standard bit of kit ....
over 35,000 miles , from my 1st clutch,
and ive still managed to do the ( NURBURG RING ) IN GERMANY... and other track day events in england
so in my opinion stay with the standard part , unless ya running megga bhp ..

RE: EVO Clutch
I have the ACT 26 pound and i have not had a problem out of it yet. i had Mitsubishi put it in when i bought the car cause one of my buddies went through 2 stock clutchs in a year. The evo8 stock clutch isn't as good as the evo7 stock clutch. If you plan on putting out some power you should go ahead and change the clutch i think. Welcome to the forum

RE: EVO Clutch
Question.
I'm looking to go ahead and upgrade my clutch. Would i have problems if i put a top rated ACT clutch (handles about 630lbs of torque) if my power is just a little over stock (about 30 hp over)

RE: EVO Clutch
exedy twin disc is the best one to go with but you need the big $$$ for it. you shouldnt have a problem with a highly rated clutch but it is over kill I mean you wont see that much TQ untill you get alot of mods and it will prob make your car harder to drive smoothly
