I just bought an 05 EvoVIII and I'd like to get an external blowoff valve installed. Is this something I can do myself, or is this better left to the professionals? Also, will it void my warranty???

External? where did you get that word from? do you mean vented to the atmospere\open loop? because you can do that with any BOV and yes installing a BOV you can do yourself it is one of the easiest mods out there. Your best bet for our cars is the JDM MR DV its cheap and its much better than the plastic stock BOV. As far as Venting to the atmosphere do it if you want but it will make the car run like a bucket off *** at idle and inbetween shifting and you cant go half on the throttl when VTA or the car will buck real bad

Ya if you run yourBOV open it will be loud but the car wont run very good at all, it needs the air to be plumbed into the intake because the MAS has already calculated for it so if it doesnt get put back in you get extra fuel to the motor with a lack of air it causes the car to go really rich and the turbo it increases lag time after shifts.

im not sure were to get the DV I know over on Evolutionm .net they are always selling them somewhere so id try there

true, my car has been tuned everytime i put something on it and this is the first BOV i have vented so i really dont know the affect it would have without a tune. I guess i should have said that.
