Favorite Evo generation?
Which generation of the Evo is your favorite? Personally, I prefer the fifth generation's look to the others... it carried an aggressive look, but wasn't too over-designed like some of the others. I think the IV Evo really changed the game when talking performance, but the V corrected all the flaws of it's predecessor, like the improved engine and turbocharger.

My favorite generation is the V and especially VI hands down. They were still relatively light for AWD cars..had the active yaw control and SAYC, and all those goodies too! Not to mention they looked aggressive from all angles.
I like the VIII and IX's and even the X's...but they fall short from what the V and VI make me feel.

Old thread...but what the hell!
My favorite Evo is the JDM Evolution VI RS2 Tommi Makinen Edition, by a mile.
I don't own the exact model but this is as close as I can get... Close enough, IMHO. Works for me!
Project 1........ Make & Model: 1999 Lancer Evolution VI RS2...plus TME air dam / front bumper.

Lightest of all the OEM E5-E9 models... at 2800 lbs.
Fantastic steering...with 2.2-turn close-ratio RS rack.
Superb brakes...BREMBOS + light weight = 60-0 mph = 2.5 sec...'Nuff said!
Über-quick acceleration...Optional 4.875:1 final drive ratio...so quicker than 4.4 sec to 60 mph.

^ ^ ^ Hi anderzon. Sorry to take so long to reply.
Thanks for the kudoes. Right now the E6 is "parked" for engine and suspension upgrade. It's now retired for weekend and AutoX use only.
Two other projects lined up next... An upgrade of a (1996 CM5A) 4wd 1800 GSR-to-Evo 6 TME 'clone' using OEM TME parts...
and finally, a restoration and upgrade of a (1986 EX) rwd 1800 GSR... with 1984 Galant Turbo (& Starion) I.R.S...Starion front struts...ft & rr Brembo brakes...and stock 4G93 turbo motor from the 4wd 1800 GSR.
