Turbo back means it is an exhaust from the turbo to the muffler. Cat back means it is from the cat to the muffler. Basically a turbo back comes with a down pipe and a cat delete or high flow cat along with a cat back

A turbo back exhaust (TBE is the short for that) is better. All a turbo back is compaired to a catback is extra piping to replace the entire stock exhaust system.
