Is this a good deal?
Hello, I've been an Evo fan for a year and we'd planned to buy one in about 9 months after I finish my dissertation. This week, I found an unusual deal and took the opportunity to do a test drive, and of course fell in love
Here's the story: someone bought a 2011 Evo GSR with the Sound & Sight and the Navigation package (original MSRP $39.9K). A few months later her husband left her, and she had to trade it in for a base model Lancer. The dealership is trying to re-sell it. They were asking $34.9K, dropped it to $33.9K + taxes etc and $395 processing fee. It's a 2011 with 3,400 miles and remainder of 36K/3yr warranty. We offered $32.5K + taxes/fees and they say they can't go down any further. We walked away but will call tomorrow.
In the meantime, what do you guys think, is this a good deal? It's so rare to have a current year used vehicle that we can't really value it with internet research... on the other hand, the dealer has already taken a profit on the original sale AND the trade-in, so we are torn.
Thanks for any insight!!!
