just curious to know what the stock boost on 05 evo8 is??? theres no boost gauge so I dont know.I cant find any info on this, all i can ever find is info with people that upgraded thier turbos and run 20+psi

05 EVO stock run 20.5, but the BOV leaks so by redline your prob. back to about 17-18. first mods should be BOV Exhaust boost controller and TUNE then your car will surprise you.
i was thinking about that, but I just sold a car that I had ten grand invested in and sold it for the evo, I kinda figured I leave it stock. But the BOV might be in the budget. Small mods I might do but other than that, i wanna take advantage of the long warrenty we have. I blew the 5year warrenty on my last car the first year I owned it,lol.
I amstill under warrenty with all my mods... I got Injen Upper and lower IC pipes , Injen Intake, HKS SSQ BOV, MBC at 20-23PSI(depends on weather I run 93 or 103) Full 3in turbo back and an SAFCII tuned
I went to mitsu a few weeks ago to have them order me a new wing an calipers since warenty covers it and the paint was turning white and they didnt care about my mods

Well then at least I wont have to worry about anything then. Got a question, if I do purchase a BOV do I need to get a tune since it will be holding the full 20.5psi to redline instead of falling off at 4500rpms? Like I said im new to the evo and turbo stuff so I want to do things right.
Oh thats good then, as for the exhaust, I kinda like the quiet exhaust, my other car had no cats and it was too loud, when i drove on the highway i couldnt hear anything at 60mph and above. It sounded like a race car....well I built it for the track so I guess I cant complain, but after getting this car I like it quiet, plus when i drive with the windows down I can hear the turbo spool up pretty good, its actually alot louder than my buddies srt4, you could barley hear the turbo spool up.
I'm a bit late but congrats on the purchace. You won't regret it. Just don't launch too much....if you're tempted to then slip or ride out the clutch a lil. Thats way better than dropping it. On the other hand that launch limiter kicks in at 5k so you should be ok.
