Well they are purely for cosmetic to stop the rust from building up on the rest of it... if your willing to pay the extra $$ then go for it

I get the part about stopping the rust butwhat about the surface of the rotor where the brake pads make contact? Wouldn't the clamping force of the brake system, plus the brake pads eventually scratch off the powder coated surface. Or is the powder coated surface tuff enough to withstand braking abuse?

The pads wont touch the powder coated surface.. the only parts that are powder coated are the vent holes and the center. The stuff that actually has the paint on it is tough enough to withstand the heat.

I got ya, cause from the picture, it looked liked the entire rotor was powder coated. In that case I could have the same thing done with my rotors if I really want too.
I actually found those on ebay.com, front and rear set with a Buy It Now price of $179.

Personally i wouldn buy jack **** from eBay to do with cars... but thats just me.

You can powder coat them yourself, then machine off the powder coat from the braking surface.

I agree with ya about buying stuff like that from ebay. If I do decide to do it I'll just get my stock rotors powder coated. How expencive you think it would be??
