Default 04 galant gts, oil pressure problem

i've got a 04 galant gts, i'm spent a lot of money on different stuff including a used motor. shortly after timing belt, water pump, various sensors and whatever else. anyways, now its ticking terribly and the shop tells me it has no oil pressure and it needs a new motor, the thing is, i've spent too much money to want to do anything to it other than sell it. i just want it running so i can get rid of it and i was wondering how much trouble replacing the oil pump is. nobody around here seems to know much about these cars.

Are they sure its an oil pressure problem and not just lifters? Older mitsu's are know for ticking lifters.

take it to the dealer to get a REAL diagnosis. mitsubishi doesnt have too many motor issues, but autolash adjusters(lifters) have been known to tap at high milage.

I cranked this car up the other day and i was thinking, if it had no oil pressure i would think the warning light on the dash would come on, also i opened the oil fill cap and it was def. under pressure, and i can see the oil sloshing around in there. it just puzzles me that it started doing this all of the sudden. it sounds like those older model rangers that ticked so badly, it is very noisy.
