Default 2000 Galant 2.4L engine vibrates when started !!!

Every time I start my car the engines vibrates strong
the dash will start vibrating especially the Steering Wheel,
but once at higher speeds the vibrating goes away, but
at a stop the vibrating comes back:/
Im thinking maybe its a motormount?

Default Galant vibration and noises

I changed both motor mounts, and the transmission mount, but my 01 Galant still has a major vibration. Only at idle though. I'm thinking it may be a harmonic balancer problem. On my Galant it is located on the main pulley.

I had a similar problem with my 02. I could hear small vacuum leak coming from the air intake but never could sort out where. I installed a lower cost cold air intake setup this weekend and my shaking has all but disappeared and it idles much smoother. I will take a look at that harmonic balancer though.

One thing to look into is if the timing belt was changed and the oil gear timing mark is 180' out.
It is very easy to make this mistake. The down side is that you will have to remove the belt to check it out.
The timing mark should spin back to the other timing mark when you move it away slightly in
either direction. If you turn it away from the mark and it moves further away, then it is 180' out.
this will cause a low rpm vibration. I hope this helped. Keep us up to date.
