Last year I purchased a 2003 Galant 2.4 ES, and I really like it, except for one thing...

The wheels seem oddly out of proportion to the body of the car. The stock wheels are 15 inch with covers, and I think it would look much better with 16 inch alluminum wheels.

In my search of the web I've seen mention of new 2003 Galant ESs coming with an optional 'Sun and Sound Package' which included 16 inch wheels. I know that the 6-cyl ES came standard with 16 inch wheels, so does this mean that the option applied to my car?

I assume that the chassis is the same from model to model, although the 2.4 came with drum/disc brakes and the 6-cyl came with all around disc brakes.

Is it possible, without alterations, to replace my 15 inch wheels with 16 inch wheels?

Oddly enough, the service department at my local dealership couldn't answer my question.

lol you can fit 20 inch wheels if you wanted too. 16" wheels will fit just fine. Just make sure you have the correct bolt pattern and off set. I am running 18"s and soon 19"s...

I had the exact same question as jmflynny. I am looking at putting the 16" Lancer Ralliart wheels on my 03 galant es 4 cyl. Does anyone know if these will fit? I'm pretty sure the bolt pattern is the same, but was wondering if the offset is ok.

Also, has anyone ever seen a Galant with these slotted 5 stars from the Lancer Ralliart? Do they look good on the Galant? Thanks.

 

I thought the Lancer was only a 4 bolt pattern?

 

The Ralliart Lancer wheels are a 5 bolt pattern. I'm looking at a set on e-bay, but they're too far from me and the shipping is expensive. I bet they would look good on a Galant.

 

TIRERACK.COM and TIRES.COM have great sites. You can plug in the make and model of your car and actually see what the wheels would look like on your car.

I, too, have been searching the web for pics of 03 Galants, trying to see what various types of wheels look best. I haven't found much in the fairly stock sizes/styles that I'm looking for.

Well as long as the bolt pattern is 5x114.3 with an off set of at least 42 (stock is 46 I believe) then you should be fine.
