Question 89 Galant, too much vibration when stopped

Hello all, Im new here, but I love my Mitsubishi and Im sure Ill be back here time to time. Since Ive had this car, its vibrated alot when I come to a stop. (Even worse when A/C is on.) And even when its in park, just idling I can see the motor vibrating alot. And Ive also noticed that when I put the automatic trans into reverse, it idles fine. I can see the rear engine mount isnt good, but not completely gone. Ive thought it could be something with the timing belt, balance shaft belt and/or harmonic balancer... Other wise this car runs fine. This is the 2.0 Litre Automatic base model. Any ideas friends? Thanks...

Ron

replace all of the motor mounts at one time. 89-92 galants suffered from this concern. mounts improve it greatly, but not completely. if your balance shaft was out of sync it would vibrate in any gear and get worse as RPM'S increased. at idle you wouldnt notice it. good luck!!

The crank pulley's are known for seperating so take a look at that and fix the broken engine mount.
