Hi All

I wanted to know if the 1997 Galant ES had automatic valve adjustments or if you had to get it done manually. My mechanic recommended doing it, since it has 160K Miles on it, and i wasnt sure if thats something that the engine automatically did or if a mechanic would do it. He said there was some top end noise and the valve adjustment would get rid of that. Any help is much appreciated

your bieng cheated, no valve adjustment on 97 galant 2.4L if there is top end noise the autolash adjusters(lifters) need to be replaced. you need to take it to another shop,seriously!!
