A/C low pressure line stem broken
I have a 2001 Galant that has an A/C low pressure valve stem broken off. I actually accidently broke it off while trying to remove a headlight bulb plug (another post).
Anyway, i would like to know the best way to handle this problem. As i see it i have two options. 1. Either i or someone else solder it back on or 2. Go to the junkyard and for 20 or 25 dollars buy a good used line.
On my first option, i've been told it's NOT EASY to solder aluminum parts together, especially a line that will be under pressure. Any thoughts??
On my second option, it SEEMS fairly easy to remove this line, but i wonder if i'll need new seals, etc. when i install the used replacement so it doesn't leak. Any thoughts??
Hopefully someone experianced in this area will come up with a good solution. Thanks
