Default Crankshaft resistor????

I've got a 2001 V4 galant and lately its been giving me trouble, because sometimes when I try and start it, it wont turn on, the radio n a/c comes on but the engine doesnt start, but sometimes it will start after a little time. I took it to autozone because the service light came on and they said it was the "crank shaft resistor" which Ive never heard of and everyone I asks says that they have never heard of it either. The cost for this part is 94$ and I have no idea about the labor so I was wondering if anyone can give me some input. thanks alot. -Oliver

Default RE: Crankshaft resistor????

First you have a Inline 4 (I4) not a V4. Second try to Google it. I think it may have something to do with the crankshaft sensor. Not so sure about the 7G.
